Assessment Centre Design and Delivery
Assessment centres for either selection or development purposes are regarded as one of the most accurate and valid assessment procedures. They provide in-depth information on individuals using multiple assessors and multiple assessment methods including:
 Group exercises
 In-tray exercises
 Presentation exercises
 Role play and fact finding exercises
 Written reports by candidates
 Competency based interviews
 Aptitude tests and occupational personality questionnaires
A typical assignment would include:
 Identifying the key competencies required for successful performance at the target level or job
 Selecting or designing appropriate instruments to assess each competency
 Programme design
 Training those in the client company taking part as assessors
 Co-ordinating the delivery of the assessment centre including the integration of information on each candidate
 Written feedback reports on the strengths and potential development needs of each participant
